Subject: The upright shall be satisfied
Scripture:
Psalm 37:18-19, New King James Version (NKJV)
18 The Lord knows the days of the upright,
And their inheritance shall be forever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,
And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Commentary:
What this tells me is that God knows the good and evil that befalls His children. And that He will protect His children from evil and He will blessed them who are righteous in their ways. During hard times when everyone else is suffering, God’s children will enjoy plenty.
What this means is that if I continue to walk the straight and narrow and follow God with all my heart, He will take care of me no matter what is going on in this world. Even if I am facing opposition, I am to never give up but continue the fight of faith.
What I do is continue to fulfill my high calling in Christ. If I keep obeying God and do what He tells me to do, if I keep doing good and shunning evil, I can have the blessed assurance that He will take care of me.
One example is when God led us to meet someone who is in the position to help us with a current problem. She is a Yale graduate and she is very capable of assisting us. Her academics, demonstration of confidence and experience and intellectual achievements gave us the assurance and advantage to have good success, victory and happiness. God knows how to choose the best and will not give us scrap. She is a very high-grade advocate and communicates and conveys quiet, peaceful confidence. She transmits a positive, can-do attitude. This is just one of the many ways that God shows us that He will take care of all our needs as we give ourselves to Him totally and wholeheartedly. His provisions comes from His storehouse and He supplies all of our needs. God is already showing us His awesome provision and blessings.
And so, according to His word, He is able to care for us and protect us from all evil. God’s promises are yes and amen. So the Lord does not forget and knows all things. In the days of adversity, the Lord carries us through. That is His promises. No matter what situation it is, we seek His word and we behold His promise. We focus our mind and thoughts on what He says about it. We are not to surcome to circumstance but to seek His word to rise up to those circumstances. We will not be subjected to the bad news but look forward to the future with hope. We must continue to do our part and pray through the situation and expect a miracle breakthrough.
God knows all things. We must never buy into the facts of the matter but transcend everything into the kingdom of God. As long as there is God in our lives, there is hope. So what the devil meant for evil, God meant for good. We must continue to commune with the Lord and see the virtue in all things. Otherwise, we will surcome to the wiles of the devil.
Conclusion
No matter what happens to us or around us in this world, we can always rest assure that God is taking care of all our needs and protecting us from all evil.
Psalm 37:24
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
In the book of Hebrews, God tells us to entertain strangers. Sometimes, these strangers are God’s own prophets or messengers. God will bring His messengers to us to give us a word of encouragement, exhortation, edification, correction or direction. One of the main reasons He does that is because of sin issues as well as spiritual warfare and or testing of faith. There may be sin in the camp. And if we ignore God’s messenger or mistreat them, there is a danger of severe judgement from God because these are God’s anointed ones.
Hebrews 13:2
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
Keyword: entertain strangers
Greek word: philoxenia
Definition: to show love unto stranger, hospitality (Vines)
So with God, we win.
Prayer
Father God in Heaven, in the name of Jesus the Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I give You praise and thanksgiving for your awesome promises. I pray to remain true to You all the days of my life. I pray to walk the straight and narrow, follow You in obedience and fulfill my high calling in Christ which is Isaiah 61, Acts 2:42, and Matt 28. I pray to commit to a life of holiness and righteousness. I pray to commit to a life that will glorify You every single day. I pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to be equipped for every good work. Thank You, Father, for saving my soul and for making me whole. For yours is the kingdom that I choose, and the power and the glory forever. amen.
Poem
Help me, Father, to be holy and true
To live this life to glorify You
To walk the straight and narrow way
To be blessed by You all of my days
By word
In the midst of difficult times, the righteous find rest in God’s loving arms.
